The Directorate for the Library of Parliament operates under the scientific supervision of the President of the Scientific Council of the Parliament and is responsible for collecting documentation, all kinds of publications, journals and newspapers and produced material from parliamentary procedures and collaborating with other libraries and scientific institutions of the interior and abroad.
The Directorate for the Library of Parliament is comprised of the following Departments:
A) Parliamentary Library Department

The main responsibilities of the Department are:
The documentation and provision of parliamentary information on the explanatory reports, the minutes of the Parliament, the Government Gazette and all material produced by the Parliament's services.
Purchasing books and periodicals of parliamentary interest and obtaining publications from public sector agencies, organizations and enterprises as defined by law.
The briefing and support of MPs and parliament services on lending books, interlibrary loans, reading function etc.
The responsibility of preserving, developing and documenting the Collection of Valuable and Rare Prints, the collection of manuscripts, the collection of historical, photographic and all kinds of archives, other than those of the prominent political figures, and the audiovisual archival material.
Maintaining, developing and documenting the Special Collections and the Parliament’s Art Collection.
Supporting citizens' access to the above mentioned files and collections.
The responsibility for updating and developing the printed and digital greek and foreign language newspaper and magazine collection, its documentation and archiving, as well as the development of collections of orders, donations, legal exchanges, offers, documentation and management of the current book material and the support of public access to all the collections of the Library.

For MPs and their associates: 9:00-20:30 daily (and throughout the Parliament’s sittings), Saturday 9:00-14:00
For the public: daily 9:00-14:00 and 17:30-20:30, Saturday 9.00-14:00
Special Collections: daily 9:00-14:00 and 17:30-20:30, only during the afternoon plenary sittings

B) Department of City Library (building of the old Tobacco Factory) and Library Systems Management

The main responsibilities of the Department are:
The responsibility for the operation of the City Library at the old Tobacco Factory, its library and its reading room.
To provide support for the Library's information systems, as well as for the creation and management of its electronic archives, in collaboration with the Directorate for Information Technology and Communications.
The introduction of new applications and the integration of New Technologies into the Library's infrastructure, in collaboration with the Directorate for Information Technology and Communications.
Ensuring the digitization and micro-photographing of the Parliament's Collections and the operation and updating of the Library's website.

Monday to Tuesday 9:00-15:00 and 15:00-18:00 (access after communication), Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00-15:00, Saturday 9: 00-14: 00 (access after communication)

C) Department of Preservation and Conservation of Prints and Works of Art

The main responsibilities of the Department are:
Maintaining library material, microfilms and works of art in good conditions, and the carrying out of regular inspections in all areas of storage and use, as well as the insurance of all types of objects such as high-value items, furniture, paintings etc.
The preservation of books, newspapers, magazines, manuscripts, documents, paintings and other works of art belonging to the Parliament and the keeping of a relevant archive.
D) Department of Benaki Library and Collections of Political Figures/Statesmen/ Prominent Politicians

The main responsibilities of the Department are:
The operation of the Benaki Library, of the Psycharis’ collection, of other independent collections, the library and its reading room.
Maintaining, developing and documenting the collections of Political Figures/Statesmen/ Prominent Politicians and the relevant audiovisual archive material.
The support of visitors to the Benaki Library, as well as the support of the public for all collections of Political Figures/Statesmen/ Prominent Politicians.
