Short Curriculum Vitae

Georgios Mylonakis was born in 1973 in Perama, in the region of Attica, and is married with two children.
He graduated from the General High School of Perama and went on to study at Panteion University, graduating in 1997 with a Degree in International and European Studies.
In 2000 he received his postgraduate diploma in International Politics and Security from the Department of International and European Studies of Panteion University.
He is an experienced Civil Service executive officer. In 2003, after successfully passing the ASEP selection process (Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection) he was appointed to the administrative Region of Attica and in 2006 he was seconded to the Private Insurance Supervisory Committee of the Ministry of Finance.
In 2008 following an open call for candidates he was transferred to the Hellenic Competition Commission where he served as Director of the President’s Office and spokesman of the Independent Authority.
He has served as Special Advisor to the Ministers of Administrative Reform and Electronic Governance from 2013 to 2015 addressing primarily issues of transparency, accountability and strengthening disciplinary liability for civil service executive officers.
In 2015 he was appointed a full member of the National Consumer and Market Council.
In 2016 he was seconded from the Hellenic Competition Commission and was appointed Advisor to the President of New Democracy, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on issues of Institutions and Transparency.
He has been a Chairperson and Member of Working Groups in the Ministry of Finance on the operation of the Private Insurance Supervisory Committee and the Hellenic Accounting and Auditing Standards Oversight Board.
He has published various articles in the weekly, daily and special print media.
He is a Rapporteur and member of the Main Teaching Staff Register of the National School of Public Administration and Local Government on the following subjects: “European issues”, “The history of European Integration” and “The EU – Institutions and Policies”. He speaks English.
