Parliamentary Activities

Member of Parliament for New Democracy, Constituency: Trikala (2012-present). Participation in the Parliamentary Finance Committee, the Standing Committee on Production and Trade, the Special Standing Committee on Research and Technology and the Special Standing Committee on Environmental Protection.

Political/Social Activities

After completing his studies, he worked in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector in managerial positions. He is the co-founder of a company operating in the FMCG sector and held the position of CEO for 15 years. In the Greek General Elections of May the 6th 2012 he was elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament (MP) for the Constituency of Trikala with the New Democracy Party. He was re-elected on June 17th of the same year. On the 25th of January 2015 he was elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament (MP), receiving the largest number of electoral votes among candidates from all political parties in the Constituency of Trikala. He was re-elected in the elections on 20th September of the same year. In the General Elections of July 7th 2019, he was elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament for the Constituency of Trikala. He was appointed Minister of Development and Competitiveness from October 2014 until February 2015. On 9 July 2019, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, with the specific responsibility for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), until January 4th, 2021. On 5 January 2021, he was appointed Minister of Environment and Energy until May 25th, 2023. In the national elections of 25 May 2023 he receives the largest number of electoral votes among candidates from all political parties in the Constituency of Trikala. Since 27 June 2023, Kostas Skrekas has assumed the duties of Minister of Development.
