Parliamentary Activities

She has been elected an MP for Argolida (New Democracy) since 1993.
She is a member of the Friendship Groups “Greece-Canada” and “Greece-Bulgaria”.
She was elected 2nd Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament and President of the Committee on European Affairs (2007-2009).
She chaired the Committee on Migration (2006-2007); she was Vice President of the Committee for Technology Assessment (1998-2000) and the Committee for Women (1994-1995).
She served the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union as a member and as its Vice President (2008-2009).
She is an Honorary Life – Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE, while in 2007 she was elected Vice President of the PPE group of the Assembly.
In 2006 she was elected Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.
She is a member of the Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs.

Political/Social Activities

She has been a member of New Democracy Party of Greece since 1984. She served the post of the Secretary General for the Region of Central Greece, Hellenic Ministry of Internal Affairs (1990-1992) and the post of the Secretary General for Environment and Planning, Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Planning and Public Works (1990-1992). She is an Honorary Member of the Greek Architectural Society and the Greek American Union. She is an Honorary Academic Member of the Italian American Union.
