NATO Parliamentary Assembly –NATO PA

NATO PA is an assembly of parliamentarians appointed by the national parliaments of the Alliance, except for government and cabinet members who cannot be NATO PA members. The Assembly acts as link between NATO and national Parliaments.
Through the work of Plenums, Committees and Sub-committees, NATO PA aims at promoting an inter-parliamentary dialogue on safety and security issues while establishing strong ties between both sides of the Atlantic contributing to a shared feeling of cohesion, raising awareness about significant alliance policies and security affairs, and achieving the Alliance’s objectives.
NATO PA member parliaments are those of Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Island, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, U.K. and the USA.

The International Secretariat of the Assembly is based in Brussels. Its task is to carry out research and analysis necessary for the drafting of Assembly reports and documents and to provide administrative services for Summits, Conferences, Committee sittings or other Assembly-related activities.

Plenary sessions are held twice a year: Spring Session is in May and the Annual Session is scheduled for November.
