Activités parlementaires

He was elected MP in Iraklio with PASOK in the election in 2004, 2007 and 2009.
Currently Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

Activités politiques/sociales

Member of the Board of students’ association at the Physics Department of Crete University and member of the Administrative Committee of the University of Crete representing the students. Participant in Students Conferences of EFEE in 1980,1982,1984.
Town counsellor of Arkalochori in 1991-1994. Member of the Administrative Committee of the Local Union of Municipalities and Communities in Iraklion in 1991-1994. Member of the Board of Directors of Iraklio Chamber in 1997-2001.
Since 1991 he has been Town Counsellor of Iraklio and Deputy Prefect in the period 1999-2002.
He was chairman of the Board of the Organization for the Development of Eastern Crete in 2003.
Member of PASOK since 1978. He participated in the seven conferences of PASOK and served as a secretary or member in many party bodies of PASOK.
He was member of the Standing Committee on Production and Trade.
He participated in the Sector of Competition in Pasok and he was member in the Parliamentary Sector Control of Development of PASOK. He has also participated in the Parliamentary Sector Control of Agricultural, Development, Education, Employment, Transports, Tourism and Islander Policy.
Deputy Secretary General to the Parliamentary Group of PASOK 2007-2009.
Currently member of the National Council of PASOK.
