Manuscripts
More than 600 codices dated from the 10th to the 19th century, primarily of theological and literary content, are held today in the Special Collections of the Library. Further to their content, quite a few manuscripts are of special interest due to their binding, writing material and their elaborate cover and/or artwork (illuminated manuscripts). A first cataloguing of the codices of the Library was published by Spyridon Lambrou and Dinos Konomos.
