Newspapers & Journals

The Library holds one of the largest collections of Greek and foreign newspapers and journals from the 18th century to now. The collection is in high demand and is available in print; a great part of the collection is also available in microfilm and in digital format. One can reach the largest part of the collection via http://catalog.parliament.gr.

The primary collection of newspapers and journals of the Library is kept in the former Public Tobacco Factory. Some titles of certain political, financial and legal interest, as well as the Press collection of the Special Collections which includes rare newspapers of the pre-revolutionary period and the periods around the Greek Revolution (1821), the German Occupation and the period of the Greek junta (1967-1974) are kept in the Main Library.

In order for the Library to meet the demands for the widest possible range of subjects in support of the parliamentary work, it has joined the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (
http://www.heal-link.gr) providing access to more than 8.000 online publications.
