- Architect, emeritus Professor of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She was professor of
architectural and urban design in the School of Architecture of NTUA and EU universities: RCA-Royal
College of Art London, UCL, Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning and was external reviewer and
partner at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and the Escuola Tècnica Superior
d'Arquitectura de Barcelona.
She has been a leading researcher in European and Greek programs in the areas of urban design;
residential and apartment buildings; rehabilitation and reuse of historical complexes; design for all; and
teaching methods for architectural design – she has presented her research in many publications, lectures
and conferences.
She holds a large number of architectural awards and distinctions at national and international
competitions, such as: Central building of the National Technical Chamber of Greece; School of Philosophy
of the University of Crete; Technical University of Crete; New Pedagogic Department, University of Xanthi;
Rehabilitation of an Industrial complex in Soufli; Olympic Village of Athens, 2004; New Acropolis Museum
in Athens.

department of Urban Geography (Géographie Urbaine), Paris X-Nanterre University.

Parliamentary Activities
Member of the Greek Parliament continuously from 2012 until today. She is currently member of the
Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Affairs and the Committee on European Affairs
Political/Social Activities
During 2015-2019 she was Alternate Minister of Labor, Social Security and Social Solidarity. She has
introduced to the Parliament the first law of the SYRIZA government to fight the humanitarian crisis and
numerous bills to establish a new digital welfare state. She also introduced the law on adoption and foster
care, a major deinstitutionalization tool for children in residential care.
From 2012 to 2015 she was responsible for "Solidarity for All", the collectivity that collaborated with
and enhanced hundreds of structures all over the country created by the people to support vulnerable
people during the economic crisis and the memoranda.
Since 2019 she is working in collaboration with the SYRIZA-PA department of Welfare and Social
Solidarity on the necessary changes in the Welfare State to address the successive crises that Greece is
experiencing (fiscal, climate, health, energy), such as a New Safety Net, the Emergency Income, the New
Integrated Digital Network of free health and welfare services and recently the party's New Housing Policy.
