Parliamentary Activities

MP Dritseli Panagiota (born January 1, 1982 in Trikala) has graduated from the Department of history and archaeology of the University of Ioannina. She was elected as MP for the first time after the elections of 2012 with the party of SYRIZA – EKM at the constituency of Trikala. During her first term she participated in the Standing Committee on Cultural and Educational Affairs of the Greek Parliament along with the Special Permanent Committee on Equality, Youth and Human Rights. She served as vice president of the Greek Delegation of Greece-Egypt Friendship Group as well as deputy member of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.
Being reelected MP at the constituency of Trikala after the elections of January 2015 she was nominated by the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA for the seat of the 1st secretary of the Greek Parliament Presidium and was elected with broad parliamentary consensus. She participated in the Standing Committee on Cultural and Educational Affairs of the Greek Parliament along with the Special Permanent Committee on European Affairs.
She served also as the Deputy Head of the Greek Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and Alternate Member of the South-East European Cooperation Process.
Panagiota Dritseli was elected for a third mandate at the elections of September 2015. She participates in the Standing Committee on Cultural and Educational Affairs of the Greek Parliament along with the Special Permanent Committee on Equality, Youth and Human Rights and the Special Permanent Committee on Institutions and Transparency. She is also member of the Subcommittee for people with disabilities. As far as concerns parliamentary diplomacy issues, Panagiota Dritseli is deputy head of the Greek delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. She is also Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Greece - Bulgaria and Secretary of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Greece - Kenya. She also participates as a member of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups between Cuba and Greece and United Arab Emirates and Greece.

Political/Social Activities

Panagiota Dritseli works actively on the issues of education, youth and sports and on the promotion of parliamentarism and democracy. Her activities include also the follow up of European affairs and international diplomacy issues. She represents the new generation of scientists who are fighting to preserve the public character of education and supports progress, peace, meritocracy and democratic liberties.
