Paris Koukoulopoulos was born in 1956 in Kozani. His parents are Dimitrios and Anastasia Koukoulopoulou.

Marital Status:

He is married to Dimitra Sakkavara who is a pharmacist and they have a son named Dimitris.

Profession:

Chemical Engineer.

Studies:

He graduated the Department of Chemical Engineers of Aristotle University’s Polytechnic school in Thessaloniki (1974-1979).

Foreign Languages:

English.

Parliamentary Activities

In the National Elections, on 4th October 2009, he got elected as a member of the Hellenic Parliament and re- elected in the National Elections of 2012.

Political/Social Activities

As a student he has developed a strong trade and cultural activity, serving as a President of Kozani’s Prefecture Students (1976-1977) and also as a President of Chemical Engineering Students’ Association (1978-1979).
He is one of the founding members of Pan-Hellenic Social Party (PA.SO.K.) in the prefecture of Kozani and he is currently a member of the Political Council. He used to be a member of the party’s Executive Office.
In 1986 he was elected as a Municipal Councilor and President of the Municipal Council during 1989- 1990.
He was first elected as the Mayor of Kozani in 1990 and by showing their trust in him the citizens of Kozani voted for him and he was reelected as a mayor in 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006.
In 1999 he became the first elected President of the Central Union of the Municipalities of Greece and he was reelected in 2003.
He has served as a member of the Greek Delegation at the Permanent Conference of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (1992-1994).
Since 1994 he has been a member of the Greek Delegation to the Committee of Regions of the E.U. and in 2000 he was elected as the Vice President. He used to be also in charge of the Greek Delegation from 2002 to 2004.
In the National Elections, on 4th October 2009, he got elected as a member of the Hellenic Parliament.
On 27th of June 2011, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Interior.
In the National Elections on 6th May and 17th of June 2012 he got re- elected as a member of the Hellenic Parliament.
Since July 2012 he is Coordinator of the Organizing Secretary of Pan-Hellenic Social Party.
