Inter-Parliamentary meeting of European Parliament Committee on Regional Development (REGI)

At the interparliamentary meeting of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) of the European Parliament held on 7.11.2023 at the European Parliament in Brussels, was discussed the future of the Cohesion Policy after 2027: opportunities, challenges and next steps. The Hellenic Parliament was represented by the MP and Chairman of the Special Permanent Committee of the Regions Emmanouil Konsolas.   

At the meeting participated as keynote speakers the Chairman of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) of the EP Younous Omarjee, the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira and the Secretary General for European Funds of the Spanish Ministry of Finance Mercedes Fernández, representing the rotating Presidency of the EU Council, the Chairman of the Committee for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU Budget Emil Boc and representatives of the European Commission. In the two theme sessions, national parliamentarians and MEPs exchanged views on how to strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion in the European Union.
