Bureau of Greece-Argentina Friendship Group and Chairman of Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs meet with Ambassador of Argentina in Athens

The Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Gioulekas and the Chairman and Deputy Chairwoman of the Greece-Argentina Parliamentary Friendship Group Lazaros Tsavdaridis and Mika Iatridi met today with the Ambassador of Argentina in Athens María Lucía Dougherty de Sánchez.

The Greek MPs referred to the potential to strengthen the already good relations between the two countries, with the help of parliamentary cooperation, in the field of tourism, shipping and commercial exchanges. Special reference was made to the Greek diaspora in Argentina, a powerful link of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. 

Furthermor,e Mr Gioulekas briefed the Ambassador on current issues of concern to the National Defence and Foreign Affairs Committee, mainly Turkey's provocations in Cyprus and the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean, which constitute violations of International Law and the Law of the Sea.
