Meeting of Parliament Vice-President Ch. Athanasiou with youth from Greece-Cyprus-Egypt diaspora in framework of 4th edition of NOSTOS programme
The 2nd Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament Charalambos Athanasiou met today with 15 young women and men, representatives of the youth of the Greece-Cyprus-Egypt diaspora who are visiting our country in the framework of the 4th edition of the “NOSTOS” Programme. They were accompanied by the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy John Chrysoulakis.
The 4th edition of the “NOSTOS” programme – by the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy – brings together for the first time youth of the diaspora of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt on a trip to the three countries, so that they can strengthen their relations and acquaint themselves with each other’s culture.
Mr. Athanasiou referred to the history of the building of the Parliament, the legislative process, the main principles of the form of government but also to the recent law regulating the possibility of voting for Hellenes Abroad.
The young people’s visit to Athens focuses on the celebration of the 200 years since the Revolution of 1821 and includes meetings with state officials, briefings on the cooperation and friendship between the three countries, as well as visits to museums and archaeological sites.
