Parliamentary delegation participates in Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Economic Governance in the EU

The 2-day Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the EU that tool place in Madrid with the participation of a large number of MPs and MEPs concluded on the 27th of October. The Conference was organised by the Parliament of Spain in the framework of the parliamentary dimension of the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council. The Hellenic Parliament was represented by members of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, MPs Dimitris Markopoulos, Fontas Baraliakos, Miltos Zamparas and Paris Koukoulopoulos. 

The President of the Senate of Spain Pedro Rollán Ojeda delivered a welcome address, while speakers at the Conference included the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic (remotely), the President of the Congress of Deputies Francina Armengol Socias, MEPs, as well as high-level officials from the European Commission and from Spain. The participants had the opportunity to exchange views on issues linked to the revision of the Europeam fiscal rules, the social dimension of the European economic governance and the EU's strategic autonomy.
