Greece-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Athens

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Greece and Azerbaijan, an anniversary meeting was held at the Hellenic Parliament between the Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Group and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Athens Anar Huseynov. Attending the meeting were the Chair of the Friendship Group Alexandros-Christos Avlonitis, the Deputy Chair Asimina Skondra, the Secretary Michail Katrinis and members Georgios Moulkiotis and Georgios Lambroulis. 

During the discussion, the Greek MPs praised the importance of cooperation between Greece and Azerbaijan not just in the field of energy, but also the economy, tourism and culture. It was also stressed that there are significant prospects for mutual support of candidacies in international organisations. 

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan underlined that the cooperation between the two countries in the energy field constitutes a solid foundation for further strengthening bilateral relations in other sectores such as the economy, culture and cooperation between educational institutions, especially via student exchanges. 

At the same time, the mutual wish was expressed to increase exchanges of visits both at the diplomatic as well as the cultural level.
