Meeting of Chairman of National Defence and Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committee with Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Athens

The high level of relations between Greece and Saudi Arabia was confirmed at today's meeting of the Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament Konstantinos Gioulekas with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Athens Dr Saad Alammar. 

The special importance attached to further strengthening relations between the two countries is reflected not only at the level of economic and investment cooperation but also in the strategic agreements that have been made in the defence sector.

It was also underlined that since the two countries are pillars of stability in the wider region of the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean, affected by current geopolitical developments, a field for foreign policy and strategic synergies is naturally created.

The importance of the two Parliaments holding more regular meetings in order to cooperate in various fields such as defence, the economy, investments and tourism, was also emphasised.
