Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC)
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Co-operation (PABSEC) was established in 1993 in Istanbul (where it is headquartered).
PABSEC has members from the Parliaments of: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, the Russian Federation, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
Its aims are: to provide a legal basis for economic, commercial, social, cultural and political cooperation among the member countries, to enact the legislation needed for the implementation of the decisions taken by the Heads of States and by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, as well as to promote cooperation with other international and regional organizations.
The Assembly consists of the following bodies: the Bureau, the Standing Committee, the Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee; the Legal and Political Affairs Committee and the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee.
In June 1995, the Hellenic Parliament joined the Assembly as its tenth fully-fledged member. The Delegation of the Hellenic Parliament consists of 6 members (2 members per committee).
