Parliamentary Activities

In the general election of 7th July 2019 he was elected as a Member of the Greek Parliament for the Constituency of Evia with the New Democracy Party. He is member of the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice, the Special Permanent Committee of the Regions and the Special Permanent Committee on monitoring the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

Political/Social Activities

During his studies at the Aristotle University he was president of the Thessaloniki’s Law Students Association (1988-1991), students representative in the Senate General Assembly and in the Rector's Council of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1988-1990). Furthermore, he was member of the Central Counsil and the General Secretariat of DAP NDFK.
In 1992 he was elected President of PC ONNED in Evia, and in 1998 he was elected President of NODE in Evia. He was also elected a member of the ONNED central committee and of the ND party central committee.
In 1994, at the age of 26, he was elected consultant in the Evia Prefecture. Subsequently, in 2006 he was elected mayor of Chalkida, in which position he was re-elected in 2010. He was also a member of the Management Board of the Regional Development Fund of Central Greece (2007-2010), Chairman of Evia’s association of municipalities and communities (2009-1010), member of the committee on institutions of Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) (2007-2010) and member of the Regional Association(PED) of Central Greece (2011-2014).
