He was born and raised in Katochori, Lefkada.

He is the father of two children, Giannis and Emmelia.

Profession:

(1983-2006): Served in positions of responsibility in the Hellenic Air Force and retired as an officer.
(1987): created the company "Kavvadas Beverage Trade".

Studies:

He graduated from the Hellenic Air Force Technical NCO Academy (STYA) in 1983. He holds a Master's Degree in Philosophy and Administration-Management from the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Economics of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Parliamentary Activities

2016-2019: Deputy Secretary General of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group. During this stint, he participated as a member in the Standing Committee on Cultural and Educational Affairs, the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs, the Special Permanent Committee on Road Safety and the Committee on Armament Programs and Contracts. Member of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups with Cuba and Serbia.
2019-2023: Vice-President of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs. Participated as a member in the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs, the Committee on the Financial Statement and the General Balance Sheet and the implementation of the State Budget, the Special Permanent Committee of the Regions and its sub-committee on Insular and Mountainous Areas.
Vice President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Denmark and member of the Friendship Groups with Australia, USA, Russia, Azerbaijan, Italy.
2023-today: In the current parliamentary term, he was elected President of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and Vice-President of the Committee on Armament Programs and Contracts.
He participates as member in the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs, the Committee on the Financial Statement and the General Balance Sheet and the implementation of the State Budget, the Special Permanent Committee of the Regions and its sub- committee on Insular Areas, the Special Permanent Committee on the penitentiary system, the Committee on state-owned enterprises, banks, public utility enterprises and social security agencies as well as the Committee of Parliament Finances.
President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Australia, Vice-President of the PFG with Austria and member of the PFG with Albania.

Political/Social Activities

2006-2010: President of the men's basketball team "Doxa Lefkada". During his tenure, the team achieved its promotion to A2 National League.
2010: in his first candidacy for municipal elections, he was elected first in votes councilor with the combination "Active Citizens".
2011-2014: Vice President of the Lefkada Municipal Council.
2013-2021: Vice-President of the Union of Football Clubs of Preveza-Lefkada.
2014: in the municipal elections he was re-elected first in votes from all combinations.
January 2015: runs for the first time in the National Elections.
September 2015: elected for the first time as a Member of Parliament, being the only New Democracy Member of Parliament from the region of the Ionian Islands.
2016: declared a regular member of the Aviation Academy of Greece.
July 2019: in the national elections, he is re-elected, doubling his votes in comparison to the January 2015 elections.
2023-today: Re-elected Member of Parliament for Lefkada with New Democracy in the national elections of May 21, 2023, while the election was reconfirmed in the elections of June 25, 2023.
