LEGISLATIVE WORK

Upcoming Bills

The competent Minister or/and the Undersecretary should inform the appropriate standing committee on their intent to introduce a Bill, by describing the overall framework of the legislation initiative and submitting, two days prior to the session, an explanatory report on the issues regulated by the Bill. This procedure is finalized in one sitting; upon the Committee President’s suggestion, the members of the committee are at liberty to determine the procedure of the debate.
Ministers ought to, whenever they put a Bill in a public consultation, highly prioritize introducing it primarily to Parliament. The Speaker forwards the Bill to the competent standing committee.

This procedure is not applicable due to the amendment of the Standing Orders in August 2010. The list will exist until all the Law Proposals are submitted (in Greek).
