President of Hellenic Parliament attends military parade for 65th Anniversary of Independence of Republic of Cyprus - N. Kaklamanis: “Greece and Cyprus must be more united than ever to achieve the national goal of reunification"

The President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, delivered a strong message of unity between Greece and Cyprus, emphasising the shared national goal of the reunification of the island and the immediate withdrawal of Turkish occupation forces.

His statement came following the conclusion of the military parade held in Nicosia to mark the 65th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Cyprus.

He then met with His Beatitude Archbishop Georgios of New Justiniana and All Cyprus at the Holy Archdiocese.

Following this, he visited the Lieutenant General Sotirios Stavrianakos Camp of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK) in Malounda, where, in an atmosphere of deep emotion, he laid a wreath at the Memorial to the Fallen during the “Operation Attila”, Turkish invasion, in Cyprus.
