President of Parliament meets with cross-party committee delegation from House of Representatives of Republic of Cyprus

The President of the Hellenic Parliament Constantine Tassoulas met today with a cross-party delegation form the Educational and Culture Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus, which is visiting Athens, following an invitation by the Chairperson of the Hellenic Parliament's Educational Affairs Committee Christos Kellas.

The Cypriot MPs, headed by Mr Pavlos Mylonas, touched on issues that will be on the agenda of both Committees, while Mr Tassoulas for his part emphasised the important role of education and our common cultural identiny, in the effort both countries made to overcome the past decade's financial crisis.

Commenting on the international political situation, he expressed the conviction that the powerful of the planet will perhaps, at long last, comprehend the importance and value of International Law, now that the consequences of the armed conflicts increasingly reverberate across the globe.

Present at the meeting, aside from Mr Kellas and his Cypriot counterpart, were the Cypriot MPs Ch. Savvides, G. Karoullas, Ch. Christophides, A. Apostolou and A. Tryfonides.
