Inter-parliamentary Conference on the Future of Agriculture

The proceedings of the Inter-parliamentary Conference on the Future of Agriculture and Food Security, which took place on 26–27 July in Dublin, as part of the parliamentary dimension of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, concluded today. The Hellenic Parliament was represented by Members of Parliament Mr Theofanis Papas and Mr Stefanos Parastatidis. The topics addressed at the Conference were: * an overview of policies concerning women's participation and generational renewal in agriculture throughout Europe * international examples of best practices for promoting generational renewal in the agricultural sector and women's participation * personal experiences – how generational renewal and women's engagement in the agricultural sector are of vital importance for food security in the European Union.
