President of Parliament meets with new Ambassador of Republic of Cyprus
The President of the Hellenic Parliament Constantine Tassoulas held today a courtesy meeting with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus Stavros Avgoustides.
The President of the Parliament stressed to the Ambassador of Cyprus that the end of Turkish occupation in Cyprus and the overall resolution of the Cyprus issue, in the framework of the pertinent UN resolutions, is a contstant concern and national priority of Greek foreign policy, also across the spectrum at the Hellenic Parliament.
Mr Tassoulas and Mr Avgoustides exchanged views on how to further develop cooperation between the two Parliaments. Mr Tassoulas pointed out that a Memorandum of Cooperation is soon to be signed between the Secretaries General of the two Bodies.
Lastly, the President of the Parliament and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East, emphasising the gravity of the situation in the region.
