Hellenic Parliament turns lights off to participate in EARTH HOUR
The Hellenic Parliament, for yet another year, participated in the global environmental awareness initiative EARTH HOUR, thus sending its own symbolic message to the energy saving initiative.
Tonight, the lights of the Parliament building went out for an hour, from 20:30 to 21:30, as a symbolic act to underline the urgent need for action to fight Climate Change and environmental destruction.
The Hellenic Parliament, proving its environmental awareness in practice, consistently and actively supports environmental actions. At the same time, through energy upgrades to its building infrastructure, as well as through selected interventions in its daily operation (heating systems, lighting, digital document handling, comprehensive recycling management), it drastically reduces its energy footprint, thus contributing to the global effort to save energy and protect the environment.
