Greece and Italy as factors of stability, peace, and cooperation in wider Mediterranean region – Meeting of delegations of the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committees of the two countries

The high level of Greek–Italian relations and the shared role of the two countries as factors of stability, peace, and cooperation in the wider Mediterranean region were reaffirmed at today’s meeting between a delegation of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament and a delegation of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee of the Italian Senate.

The Greek delegation included Ms Dora Bakoyannis, Chair of the Committee, Mr Dimitrios Kairidis, Deputy Chair, Mr Ioannis Pappas, Secretary, and Committee members Mr Georgios Nikitiadis and Ms Rena Dourou. The Italian delegation was represented by Ms Stefania Craxi, Ms Antonella Zedda, and Mr Ettore Licheri, accompanied by the Ambassador of Italy, Mr Paolo Cuculi.

Addresses were delivered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Georgios Gerapetritis, and the First Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Ioannis Plakiotakis.
