Ath. Bouras: “Protecting democracies from hybrid threats requires determination and safeguarding fundamental rights, above all democratic principles…”

The need to establish a strong, coordinated European front against contemporary hybrid threats and disinformation was highlighted by the Third Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Athanasios Bouras, who represented the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, at the proceedings of the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament of the member states of the Council of Europe, taking place in Rome on 14–16 October 2026.
In his address during the thematic session “Resilient Democracies: United Against Hybrid Threats”, the Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament stressed that safeguarding the Organisation’s three founding pillars—human rights, the rule of law and democracy—is an unwavering priority for Greece.
