Chair of Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs Dora Bakoyannis meets with Ambassador of India Redrendra Tandon

The Chair of the Standind Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament, Dora Bakoyannis, met today at the Parliament with the Ambassador of India to Athens Rudrendra Tandon.

Mrs Bakoyannis referenced the traditionally good relations between Greece and India, which have taken on a new dynamic, following the visit of the Prime Minister of India to Athens in August, and stressed that Greece is committed to promoting cooperation in many fields, in order to attain tangible results.

Mr Tandon referred to the political situation in India, this being an election year, and analysed the social disparities in the country. Regarding bilateral cooperation, the Ambassador expressed his conviction that the high level contacts in the recent years will contribute to the qualitative upgrading of relations between the two countries. 

Both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate closely in order to implement the decisions taken at high level and agreed to further extend cooperation to the parliamentary level, as soon as the new Greεce-India Parliamentary Friendship Groups are set up.
