President of Hellenic Parliament meets with Ambassador of Israel to Athens

The President of the Parliament Constantine Tassoulas, received today, in a courtesy visit, the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Athens Noam Katz. 

The President of the Parliament stated that the two countries have formed a strong and stable relationship, in all areas of cooperation and thanked the Ambassador for Israel's support in the effort to extinguish this past summer's forest fires.

Mr Tassoulas informed the Ambassador of the State of Israel that the 3+1 group (with the US), as well as the Parliamentary Friendship Groups are being set up.

Furthermore, views were exchanged on how to further deepen the parliamentary relations of the two states.

Lastly, Mr Katz conveyed an invitation by the Speaker of the Knesset to the President of the Hellenic Parliament, to conduct an official visit to Israel.

Mr Tassoulas accepted the invitation. The details of the visit will be arranged via diplomatic channels.
