President of Parliament meets with Pierre Moscovici

The President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, received Mr Pierre Moscovici, First President of the French Court of Audit, former European Commissioner, and former French Minister of Finance. Mr Kaklamanis praised Mr Moscovici’s role in the EU and his support for Greece during the difficult 2015 period. Mr Moscovici expressed confidence in Greece’s current “success story”, highlighting its strong public finances.

In recognition of his services to Greece, Mr Moscovici was awarded the silver medal of the Hellenic Parliament, bearing the image of the goddess Athena on the seal of the newly established Greek state, a symbol of Greece’s democratic heritage and historical continuity.

Attending the meeting were Mr Anastasios Bartzokas, Chair of the Greece-France Friendship Group and MP for Imathia; the Hellenic Parliament’s Secretary General Mr Vasileios Bagiokos; Parliamentary Diplomatic Advisor Ambassador Constantine Economides; and a delegation from the French Embassy led by Ambassador Laurence Auer.
