"Democracy, Innovation and the AI Act" - An inter-parliamentary exchange at the European Parliament

An Interparliamentary Dialogue on “Democracy, Innovation and the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act)” was held today at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The meeting was organised at the initiative of the co-chairs of the joint working group of the EP Committees on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, and on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. The Hellenic Parliament was represented by MP Efstathios Konstantinidis, member of the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice. The exchange of views among members of national parliaments, MEPs, representatives of the European Commission, the Council of Europe and experts focused on three key dimensions: national enforcement and coordination; democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights; and Europe’s role as a global leader in artificial intelligence.
