Greece-Venezuela Parliamentary Friendship Group meets with Chargé d' affaires of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
The Bureau of the Greece-Venezuela Parliamentary Friendship Group, MPs Diamanto Manolakou (Chair), Neoklis Kritikos (Deputy Chair) and Thomais Economou (Secretary) held today a courtesy meeting at the Hellenic Parliament with the Ambassador of Venezuela to Greece, Freddy Jesús Fernandez Torres.
During the meeting the two sides confirmed the intention to strengthen bilateral relations through cultural exchanges, through the establishment of an air-connection and looking into opening a Greek embassy in Venezuela. Inter alia, the two sides discussed the prospect of developing cooperation in the maritime field and in bilateral trade.
For his part, the Ambassador spoke about the possibilities to increase cooperation between the two countries and about the pressure his country is under in view of the 2024 elections, which should not affect Greece-Venezuela relations. The meeting was concluded with the Chair of the Friendship Group Mrs Manolakou emphasising the importance of dialogue and extroversion in resolving issues, both in bilateral, as well as multilateral relations between countries.
