Visit of Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights to the Hellenic Parliament

The Third Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Athanasios Bouras, welcomed the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Dmytro Lubinets, to the Hellenic Parliament, in the presence of the Greek Ombudsman, Mr Andreas Pottakis.

Highlighting the centuries-old relationship between the two peoples and Ukraine's contribution to Greece's War of Independence in 1821, which has evolved into an excellent and multifaceted bilateral relationship based on friendship and solidarity, as demonstrated by Greece's support for Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Mr Bouras referred to the important work carried out by the constitutionally established Independent Authority of the Greek Ombudsman, as well as by comparable institutions supporting civil society in countries where such bodies exist.
