N. Kaklamanis: “The Greek language is a common good and a value of the world’s cultural heritage” - Award Ceremony honouring Chair and Members of Board of Archimedean Academy - World Greek Language Day

“The Greek language does not belong exclusively to one people or to a single geographical area. On the contrary, it constitutes a common good and a value of the world’s cultural heritage, as the sole example of a language in the Western world that enjoys an unbroken continuity of 40 centuries of oral tradition and 35 centuries of written tradition.”
This was highlighted by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, at a special event held in the Senate Hall of the Parliament, where the President and members of the Board of the Archimedean Academy were honoured for their contribution to the promotion and dissemination of the Greek language in the Diaspora.
