35th Regional Assembly Europe of Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie

The Hellenic Parliament, as part of participating in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), is hosting on 6-7 November 2023, in the Senate hall, the 35th Regional Assembly Europe of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie.

The main topic of discussion is the consequences of the war in Ukraine in Europe and the geopolitical changes it brings to the world.

 The discussion will be structured in 3 thematic sections:

1.  Democracy in the face of war: challenges, stakes and weaknesses
2.  The consequences of the war in Ukraine for Europe: systemic, migration, energy and economic crisis.
3.  The prospects of the fragmented world and the search for a new multicentric global governance

The opening of the meeting will be made by the The President of the Hellenic Parliament C. Tassoulas will open the assembly, while keynote speaker on the main topic will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Gerapetritis.

Speaking on the  issues in the thematic sections will be distinguished persons from the academic, scientific and political fields.

The meeting is expected to be attended by 24 delegations of national and local parliaments of the European countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie.
