Czech Republic Envoy for the Balkans visits Hellenic Parliament

The First Vice-President of the Parliament and Chairman of the Special Standing Committee on European Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Ioannis Plakiotakis, met today with the Czech Republic's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Mrs Edita Hrda.

In his introductory remarks, Mr Plakiotakis stated that "Greece has played a decisive role in the European course of the Western Balkans,  as the Thessaloniki Declaration, signed during the Greek Presidency in June 2003, marked the beginning of the process of rapprochement between the countries of the Western Balkans and the EU, with the promise of accession to the Union."
