Enrico Letta, former Prime Minister of Italy and Jacques Delors Institute President, at Hellenic Parliament

The report on the future of the single market entitled ''Much more than a Market'' was presented today to the competent parliamentary committees by the former Prime Minister of Italy and President of the Jacques Delors Institute Mr Enrico Letta, at the invitation of the Hellenic Parliament. Mr Letta drafted this report on behalf of the EU institutions, following the conclusions of the European Council of June 2023, where the leaders of the EU Member States asked for an independent report on the future of the single market.

The presiding Chair of the meeting, 1st Vice-President of the Parliament and Chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs Mr Ioannis Plakiotakis, in his introductory remarks, stressed that Mr Letta's presence honours the Greek Members of Parliament and demonstrates the importance he attaches to the dialogue with national parliaments and indirectly with citizens for the strengthening of the European edifice.
