Meeting of President of Hellenic Parliament with His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Αmir of the State of Qatar

The President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr Constantine Tassoulas, met today with His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Αmir of the State of Qatar.

The President of the Parliament stressed the ties of friendship that bind the two states and their shared commitment to the fundamental principles of international law.

The President of the Parliament and the Amir of the State of Qatar agreed that progress has been made in bilateral economic relations in recent years and that there is a strong interest in further strengthening cooperation in areas such as energy, tourism, culture, infrastructure and agriculture.

The President of the Parliament also expressed his ambition for a greater Greek business presence in Qatar and welcomed, in turn, companies and investment funds of the State of Qatar to Greece.

For his part, the Emir of the State of Qatar, after thanking for the warm welcome and hospitality in Athens, confirmed the excellent level of our bilateral relations and committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
