Meeting of President of Parliament with Delegation of Armenian National Committee of Greece
The President of the Parliament Constantine Tassoulas met today with a delegation of the Armenian National Committee of Greece. The President of the Parliament and the delegation of the Armenian National Committee of Greece agreed that bilateral relations between Greece and Armenia are based on the stable friendship of the two states and peoples. At the same time, they confirmed that Greece and Armenia view Turkey's regional role in the same way and that both countries have a common vision on stability and cooperation as fundamental conditions for the well-being of the peoples in their neighbourhood.
The delegation of the Armenian National Committee of Greece briefed the President of the Parliament on recent developments in Nagorno-Karabakh and the ongoing blockade of the Lachin corridor. For his part, Mr Tassoulas emphasised that Greece is fully committed to International Law and the values of the UN Charter and is particularly sensitive to issues of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Afterwards, the President of the Parliament referred to the close cooperation that has developed between the Parliaments of the two states, emphasising particularly the Twinning programme aiming to strengthen the Parliament of Armenia regarding the oversight and implementation of the CEPA Agreement.
Lastly, the delegation of the Armenian National Committee of Greece the President of the Parliament briefed the President of the Parliament on its activities in Greece.
