Greek interparliamentary delegation at Plenary Session of 148th General Assembly of Inter-parliamentary Union in Geneva: "We believe in the power of Parliamentary Diplomacy"

His belief in the power of Parliamentary Diplomacy expressed Mr Stavros Kalafatis in his speech at the Plenary Session of the 148th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva on the topic: "Parliamentary Diplomacy: Building bridges for peace and understanding".

The member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and MP for Thessaloniki, noted inter alia: "Faced with modern challenges that know no borders, such as climate crisis, global threats to public health, migration, the digital revolution and artificial intelligence, but also faced with conflicts with a visible risk of a dramatic expansion, in the face of human rights violations and violations of international law, inter-parliamentary diplomacy can give prominence to common principles and universal values, capable of pointing to commonly accepted solutions and jointly agreed responses".

In Geneva were also present the members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Symeon Kedikoglou and Panagiotis Doudonis.
