Meeting of President of Hellenic Parliament with Ambassador of Arabic Republic of Egypt

The President of the Hellenic Parliament Constantine Tassoulas held a courtesy meeting today with the new Ambassador of the Arabic Republic of Egypt Omar Amer Youssef.

During the meeting, the President of the Parliament and the Egyptian Ambassador agreed that the geographic proximity and the long-standing links between Greece and Egypt have contributed to the establishment of solid relations between the two countries.

As they pointed out, a strategic cooperation between the two countries has been established on a wide range of sectors. Special reference was made to the succesful cooperation between Greece and Egypt in the energy sector, in particular regarding electrical interconnection. 

During the meeting, reference was also made to the Greece - Cyprus - Egypt trilateral scheme, in the framework of which the three countries succesfully cooperate in various fields.

The Ambassador of the Arabic Republic of Egypt invited the President of the Hellenic Parliament to visit Egypt at a date that will be decided via diplomatic channels.
