2nd Vice-President of Hellenic Parliament at Conference of Speakers of EU parliaments elaborates on basic pillars on which the strengthening of the Economic and Monetary Union should be structured

The main pillars on which the strengthening of the Economic and Monetary Union should be structured, in the context of future enlargement, social rights, environmental challenges and climate change, were outlined today in the speech by the 2nd Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr Georgios Georgantas, representing the President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr Constantine Tassoulas, at the Conference of Speakers of EU parliaments, held in Mallorca (21-23 April).
Mr Georgantas focused mainly on four pillars where the EU needs to act in order to achieve balanced and multi-level development - while also strengthening itself - for all member-states. Elements, which he described as necessary in order to prevent the "blossoming of populism", which is observed at a Pan-European level.
