Hellenic Parliament participates in 1st Parliamentary Forum for Democracy

The 1st EU Parliamentary Democracy Forum was convened today at the European Parliament, with the participation of Members of the European Parliament, members of national parliaments, experts, academics and representatives of civil society. The discussions focused on strengthening democracies across the EU.

The Hellenic Parliament was represented by the First Vice-President and Chair of the European Affairs Committee, Mr Ioannis Plakiotakis, and MP Rania Thraskia. Mr George Papandreou also participated as a speaker in the session on resilience building, in his capacity as General Rapporteur on Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
