Hellenic Parliament stands by injured children from Palestine - Nikitas Kaklamanis: “As long as you are in Greece, you are our children and can rely on us.”
The President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, welcomed ten children from Palestine along with their mothers, who had been rescued from war and destruction, to Parliament today.
“While you are in Greece, you are our children and can rely on us,” said the President of the Parliament, offering them gifts and welcoming them to Parliament.
The children and their mothers, accompanied by the Leader of the Course of Freedom, Mrs Zoi Konstantopoulou, who initiated the visit, as well as the Palestinian Ambassador to Greece, Mr Yussef Dorkho, have been in our country since February. Some of these children, physically and mentally traumatized by the ongoing war in Gaza, have been or continue to be treated in hospitals in our country.
As announced by Mr N. Kaklamanis, the Hellenic Parliament will cover the medical expenses of children injured in the war, as well as provide prosthetic limbs to children who have been maimed during the conflicts in the troubled region. It should be noted that, during his meeting on May 29 with the Palestinian Ambassador to Greece, the President of the Parliament had already announced the Parliament's decision to provide medical and hospital care to 10 more children from Gaza, as well as the Parliament's intention to send humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people as soon as the humanitarian corridor to Gaza is safely opened.
