MP Georgios Stamatis participates in High-Level UN Events for 5th International Day for Countering Hate Speech

On the occasion of the 5th International Day for Countering Hate Speech, two high-level events were held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, focusing on strengthening international cooperation to tackle hate speech and promoting tolerance and social cohesion.

The opening session of the main event, which focused on the role of partnerships and multilateral coalitions, was attended by high-level United Nations officials, including the President of the General Assembly Ms Annalena Baerbock, the UN Secretary-General Mr António Guterres, the Under-Secretary-General Mr Miguel Ángel Moratinos, High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, and the Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Ms Melissa Fleming.

MP Mr Georgios Stamatis was the General Rapporteur for Roma and Travellers of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
