Visit of Deputy Chair of Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs Stephanos Gikas to Ukraine

The Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament Stefanos Gikas, visited Ukraine in the framework of a visit of representatives of the Global Parliamentary Network "United for Ukraine", which was organised as an expression of solidarity to Ukraine and coincided with the two-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

During his visit to Kiev Stefanos Gikas met with Rouslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine and the Chairpersons of the Parliamentary Committees of the Parliament of Ukraine, with the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Olga Stefanishyna, with the Deputy Minister of Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandra Azarkhina, with the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova and with high-ranking officers and officials of the Ukrainian Army. He also met with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanios, with the Greek Chargé d'Affaires in Kiev, Manolis Androulakis and the Greek Defence Attaché in Kiev, Colonel Argyrios Hatziathanasiou.

The Greek MP informed the participants about the recent Conference for the reconstruction of Ukraine, organised by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the European Investment Bank and stressed that Greece will be supportive of Ukraine's efforts for development, reconstruction and the establishment of modern institutions.
