Role of parliaments in preventing human trafficking main issue on agenda of Committees of Parliamentary Assembly of Black Sea Cooperation

The Legal and Political Affairs Committee and the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Cooperation (PABSEC) held their regular meetings for the first semester of 2021. Mr. Simos Kedikoglou, Head of the Greek delegation to PABSEC, attended the Legal and Political Affairs Committee meeting and Mrs. Chara Kefalidou, a member of the delegation, attended the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee meeting.
The issue on the agenda for both Committees was “The role of Parliaments in preventing human trafficking – Legal, social and policy aspects”. During the meeting, the Greek MPs focused their interventions on legislation and measures taken by the state in order to control the crime of human trafficking, as well as the bilateral and multilateral forms of cooperation developed between states and organisations to achieve this goal.
