Visit of Japanese Parliament delegation to Hellenic Parliament

 

Members of the Greece-Japan Friendship Group and the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament held successive meetings with a delegation of members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Japanese Parliament. During the meeting of the Japanese MPs with members of the Friendship Group, led by Mr Giorgos Stylios, was confirmed the depth of bilateral diplomatic relations in place since 1899, when the Treaty of Friendship Trade and Shipping was signed. Both sides noted that Greek-Japanese relations continue to prosper as they complete 125 years of close cooperation, marked by the designation of 2024 as the Year of Culture and Tourism between Greece and Japan.   

During the discussion, the participating MPs from the Greece-Japan Friendship Parliamentary Group Angeliki Delikari, Ioannis Kallianos, Markos Kafouros, Ioannis Paschalidis, Theodoros Roussopoulos, Dimitrios Mantzos, Anastasios Nikolaidis, Pavlos Christidis, Vasilis Viliardos and Vasileios Stigkas confirmed the intention to extend the excellent political climate in bilateral relations to the economic sector as well.
