Letter of condolence by President of Hellenic Parliament to British counterpart on passing of Queen Elizabeth II

The President of the Hellenic Parliament Constantine Tassoulas sent today a letter of condolence to the Speaker of the House of Commons of the UK Sir Lindsay Hoyle, on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The President of the Hellenic Parliament writes the following:

"On behalf of the members of the Hellenic Parliament and myself, I would like to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth II has been an emblematic personality of international recognition, respect and appreciation. She worked vigorously for the unity of the British Nation, serving her country and the Commonwealth with dedication, love, wisdom and an unparalleled as well as productive reign.

Throughout her long rule and up until the end of her life, she enjoyed the love and respect of her subjects, while fulfilling her demanding and complex service with dignity, calmness and serenity.

The Hellenic Parliament, participating in this profound mourning with you, expresses its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom.
